What We Do?
Over the years GA-APPNA has been involved with a lot of projects to help the community, it has been a part of celebrating National Health Care Day which is held nationwide usually in the month of October by all the APPNA chapters since 2008, GA APPNA takes part in it with much fervor and arranges Health Fare In which it does free health screening, mammograms / EKG’s and free lab work.
In 2011 during the initiative by APPNA to open free health clinics, one of our members Dr. Gulshan Harjee founded Clarkston Community Health Center along with Mr. Saeed Raees. Now CCHC has expanded to great lengths and provides free medical, dental, and mental health care to the underprivileged.
GA APPNA supports the CCHC Pharmacy and allocates annual funds to it.
Over the years GA APPNA has held annual Health Fairs, collected and donated funds for various charities such as Glitter of Hope Foundation, The Citizens Foundation USA, Friends of Indus Hospital, Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Kohi Got Hospital.
Georgia APPNA members have also made large contributions for Pakistan Flood relief, Hurricane relief is USA, Earthquake in Turkey and Pakistan
Each year GA APPNA also collects funds to provide Ramadan rations and Eid gifts for the poor .
Locally GA APPNA members have been involved in food, and blanket drives for the homeless and poor African American groups in downtown Atlanta.
